Match Report: Hard earned maiden home win over Rayo Vallecano (1-0)

Salmi opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time and Enith produced heroics from 12 yards out right at the death.

VCF Femenino hosted Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, October 16th at 1 pm kick-off time at the Antonio Puchades on Matchday 7 of Primera Iberdrola.

VCF Femenino had a strong start to the game just six minutes into the first half though Salmi whose effort nearly trickled over the goal-line.

Both sides exchanged possesion with the majority of play taking place inside their respective own half of the pitch in a cagey passage of play.

Millene enjoyed a meaningful chance for the away side as her effort fizzed just past Enith’s top right corner.

Valencia CF Femenino’s Finnish player, Salmi broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time nodding the ball home at the far post off a deflected ball following a corner kick which was taken by Esther.   

Valencia CF Femenino edged Rayo Vallecano by 1-0 at half-time.

VCF Femenino up the tempo in the second half having possession enjoying successive chances through Esther, Candela, Salmi. They dominated the game on 50 minutes and were pushing to double their lead.

Marta Carro saw her effort struck the base of Yohana’s right hand post on the hour mark and Aforementioned Yohana palmed away Salmi’s left footer from point blank range just two minutes later.

Then Altuve came mighty close to doubling Valencia CF Femenino’s lead but her effort came back off the upright.

Bakker came close to scoring with a powerful drive from outside the box on 82 minutes.

Enith produced heroics between the posts at the other end denying Sladjana from 12 yards out to secure all three points for VCF Femenino for a long-awaited and hard earned opening win of the season.
